Position: Business and Finance Process Transformation Leader

Role Objectives
As the Business and Finance Process Transformation Leader, you will drive the strategic overhaul of business and finance processes to enhance operational efficiency, financial accuracy, and organizational agility. Your primary objective is to lead the design, digitalization, and implementation of integrated business and financial systems, ensuring alignment with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). You will act as the subject matter expert (SME) for process transformation, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that optimize workflows, strengthen controls, and achieve measurable business outcomes.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Design Integrated Policies & Procedures: Lead the review and development of business and financial policies and procedures that comply with MFRS and IFRS, ensuring robust governance, risk management, and separation of duties.
- Define Transformation Requirements: Spearhead the development of business requirements for end-to-end processes, including transaction initiation, financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and operational workflows, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
- Digitise Processes: Work with the Business Transformation Task force members to map current processes, identify inefficiencies, and document user requirements for selecting and implementing new systems. Identify critical business and finance processes for digitalisation, prioritising initiatives based on impact to streamline operations, enhance controls, and improve decision-making.
- Drive Cross-Functional Collaboration: Lead diverse teams, including business stakeholders, IT, and external vendors, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of transformation initiatives.
- Champion Transformation: Articulate clear transformation objectives, solution strategies, and value propositions to stakeholders, aligning initiatives with organisational priorities. Advocate for the adoption of new processes and systems, engaging stakeholders to secure buy-in and drive organisational change.
- Oversee ERP implementation: Lead the tendering process, from the preparation of the specification to the selection of vendors. Direct internal teams and external teams to ensure the successful implementation of the new ERP system according to the project timeline and budget.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading business process reengineering and financial system transformation initiatives.
- MIA Qualified accountant (ACCA/CPA or equivalent) with a strong background in MFRS/IFRS compliance.
- Strong expertise in financial operations, including revenue and cost accounting, procure-to-pay, cash management, reconciliations, general ledger closing, and regulatory reporting (MFRS/IFRS).
- Deep understanding of business process optimisation, with experience in mapping and redesigning workflows for efficiency and scalability.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex stakeholder relationships to deliver transformative outcomes.
- Hands-on experience in designing and implementing digital tools and systems for business and finance processes.
- Exceptional analytical skills to interpret complex data, challenge existing processes, and drive data-informed decisions.
- Outstanding communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders, operational teams, and external partners.
- Experience in change management, with a track record of fostering organisational adoption of new processes and technologies.
- Experience in the implementation of an ERP system.
- Good knowledge of public listed companies’ reporting requirements.
