Position: L2 Server Engineer
Work location: On-site, KL Sentral

Roles and Responsibilities
Server Infrastructure
- To perform backup recovery plans, patches, fixes, and updates for Servers.
- To coordinate / perform server allocation or expansion needed for servers as requested.
- To ensure Server Catalogue List which describes in detail all the hardware specific, operating systems, application is updated accordingly.
- To monitor, troubleshoot and resolve server device errors, connectivity, performance and capacity issues.
- To perform housekeeping, cleanse unutilized server, allocate and return to server pool.
- To monitor server performance and alert for any server breached threshold.
- To perform daily server health check.
- To alert on any server abnormalities and escalate to 3rd party vendor for support.
- To periodically review all server related security items (e.g. policy, procedure and standards, access and etc.); this include housekeeping of all changes are required to be tracked.
Email Management (Exchange)
- To perform regular housekeeping on email account administration.
- To perform email service management such as public folder setup, backup, Global Address List (GAL) management, calendar and resource management.
- To monitor and alert email performance quota management.
- To monitor email spam management.
- To perform daily server health check on email connectivity and successful email transaction.
- To troubleshoot email exchange related incident and request.
- To carry out FIM support and maintenance.
- To support the operations of Infrastructure and Storage residing in Data Center (DC).
- Install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the operating environment.
- Regularly maintain the on-going reliability, performance and support of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring the operating environments; responding to incidents, problems and planning for growth.
- Performs routine maintenance tasks for infrastructure systems such as backups, patch management and hot fixes.
- Take control of DC environmental health requirements, manage and monitor DC health through automated system installed in DC. Alert relevant owners in the event alarm triggered from the system.
- Record and maintain logs of physical entrance to the DC.
- Coordinates changes across multiple systems.
- Coordinate with vendor to perform preventive maintenance.
- Perform 5S in Data Center and at other computer areas.
o Safety: To mitigate safety hazards
o Sort: To remove/decommissioned all unused IT related devices
o Straighten: To strategically allocate place for IT related devices
o Shine: Clean, organize and perform periodic inspection
o Standardize: To set discipline and procedures for sort, straighten and shine
Data Center Infrastructure
- Responsible for the overall operation and maintenance and access of the data center (excluding Air-condition, electricity, safety fire hazard protection equipment’s, cablings beneath raised floors and wiring above ceilings).
- Deploy the release of new technologies as well as install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware.
- Troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Online Web Access (OWA) and maintaining a secure systems environment.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex hardware and software.
- To perform backup recovery plans, patches, fixes, and updates for Servers.
- Monitors system-operating capacity in terms of (e.g., disk space, storage, and CPU utilization).
- Perform daily backup, daily health check and related services. Provides feedback and recommendations on requirements based on health check results.
- Prepare Data Center Catalogue (inclusive instructions, pictures, labels and locations) and provide full tagging and labelling in Data Center and other areas when required.
Storage Infrastructure
- To perform backup recovery plans, patches, fixes, and updates for Storages.
- To coordinate / perform storage allocation or expansion needed for servers as requested.
- To allocate ports for applications/servers in need of Storage connectivity for storage/backup.
- To configure the disk storage arrays including defining logical volumes and disk redundancy.
- To perform configuration on storage devices including firmware/driver updates, patch management and performance tuning.
- To maintain consistent storage naming conventions to support troubleshooting and reporting.
- To ensure high availability/redundancy of connectivity is maintained.
- To monitor, troubleshoot and resolve storage device errors, connectivity, performance and capacity issues.
- To perform housekeeping, cleanse unutilized storage, allocate and return to storage pool.
- To maintain and manage access of storage switch user profiles/passwords.
- To support, configure and maintain local and remote storage replication and copy services.
Requirements
- Diploma/Bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology or Engineering.
- Minimum three (3) years of relevant working experiences.
- Experience in Active Directory, Azure, SharePoint, Exchange Server, Storage and Data Center.
